Your certificate
We'll send you a certificate of qualification designating your advancement to CPA status in the next six weeks.
If you're based outside Australia or New Zealand, and have a local divisional office, our divisional member service team will be in touch in the next six to eight weeks to issue your certificate.
Member Recognition Ceremonies
We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you and your family, friends and peers at a Member Recognition Ceremony. Ceremonies are held each year in local CPA Australia divisions and branches. You'll receive an invitation to attend a Member Recognition Ceremony approximately six weeks before the next scheduled events in your region. The dates for upcoming Member Recognition Ceremonies are listed on our website. If you would like to attend a Member Recognition Ceremony in a different location, please contact us.

Maintaining your membership
We'll support you every step of the way with a curated selection of content to help you meet your obligations and make the most of your membership, including complimentary resources such as podcasts, webinars, and online courses.
Continuing professional development hours
You must complete 120 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every three years, with a minimum of 20 hours of CPD per year.
From 1 October 2023, all members are required to complete 10 hours of Ethics CPD every three years (per triennium), with a minimum requirement of two verifiable hours per year, except those excluded in the By-Laws. This forms part of your existing CPD requirement of 120 hours per triennium, not in addition to.
While you were studying the CPA Program, you would have met this requirement as a result of your study. Now that you’ve completed the CPA Program, you’ll need to continue to keep your skills up to date and source relevant professional development to help you do that.

Complying with CPA Australia's regulations
Becoming a CPA is a mark of high professional competence. It gives you a competitive advantage over your peers, so you can discover new opportunities and reach your highest potential. CPAs are highly trusted, committed to upholding the integrity of the designation, and contribute significantly to this strong reputation.
This is why all members of CPA Australia are required to maintain high professional standards of conduct, by complying with CPA Australia’s Constitution, by-laws, Codes of Conduct and regulations.

As a member of CPA Australia, you’ll also need to renew your membership once a year. We’ll be in touch when it’s time to renew.

If you have completed the CPA Program, you may be able to claim credits into specialist master and MBA degrees. With these credits, you can reduce the time and cost associated with obtaining a masters degree.
