President’s message – CPA Australia represented at the A4S Summit
The Board is excited by the energy and enthusiasm CEO Chris Freeland AM has brought to the role since he commenced in March. Last week, Chris marked his first 100 days by sharing his reflections and observations with the Board and employees, outlining his strategic priorities. The Board fully supports Chris’s vision and dedication to enhancing member value and service.
Currently, Chris is representing CPA Australia at the prestigious Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) Summit in London. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, A4S was founded by His Majesty King Charles III in 2004, then The Prince of Wales. CPA Australia is honoured to join delegates from 14 of the world’s largest accounting bodies to discuss the critical role of the accountancy profession in driving the transition to a sustainable economy. The summit is focusing on overcoming challenges, leveraging existing solutions, and fostering innovations necessary for a sustainable future by 2050 and beyond. Our ongoing participation in A4S supports our broader ESG Strategy.
Tax Time campaign
Each year, CPA Australia launches a comprehensive tax time campaign to arm our members with the essential information and resources to support their businesses and clients during the financial year-end. This year’s campaign is packed with valuable content, including a year-end tax webinar, dedicated podcasts, and insightful feature articles in “In Practice.” Additionally, we’ve released three media statements that have gained widespread coverage across Australia’s mainstream media. Our campaign also aims to educate the public on crucial tax time considerations and highlight the importance of consulting a registered tax agent. The tax time resources are available on the dedicated webpage.
