On 5 November 2024, the Disciplinary Tribunal found Mr Carlo Celisano breached CPA Australia’s 11 May 2022 Constitution:
- Article 36(a) when he “committed, participated in or been involved with an Adverse Event” as defined in Article 76(h) of the Constitution in that he had “became the subject of a final adverse finding in relation to the Members conduct, competence or recognition by any Court, professional body, statutory or other regulatory authority in any jurisdiction;” with respect to the decision made by the Australian Securities Investments Commission (ASIC) to disqualify him from being an approved SMSF auditor.
Mr Carlo Celisano attended the Disciplinary Tribunal hearing and admitted the Complaint.
Penalty and Costs:
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaint sustained and imposed the following penalties:
Complaint 1:
- Forfeiture of membership, not to be readmitted before 28 July 2027.
- A Fine of $2,000.
The Member was ordered to pay CPA Australia’s costs of $15,447.
