On 1 May 2024 the Disciplinary Tribunal found Mr Angelo Polymeneas breached CPA Australia’s 11 May 2022 Constitution:
- Article 36(a) when he was found to have “committed, participated in or been involved with an adverse event” as defined in Article 76(h) of the Constitution when he “became the subject of a final adverse finding in relation to the member’s conduct, competence or recognition by any Court, professional body, statutory or other regulatory authority in any jurisdiction;” with respect to the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) decision of 3 November 2022.
Mr Polymeneas did not attend the Disciplinary Tribunal hearing and a denial of the complaint was entered on his behalf.
Penalty and Costs:
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaint sustained and imposed the following penalties:
- Forfeiture of membership, not eligible for readmission for a period of 3 years
The Tribunal also imposed the following condition of re-admission:
- If Mr Polymeneas is offering Public Accounting Services, he must successfully complete a compliant CPA Australia Practice Review, or its equivalent, prior to re-admission.
Mr Polymeneas was ordered to pay a contribution to CPA Australia’s costs of $2,820.
