On 3 June 2021 the Disciplinary Tribunal found Mr Kelvin Wright breached CPA Australia’s Constitution of 22 May 2018:
- Article 39(a)(ii)(F), in that he had “been the subject of an adverse finding that has not been overturned on appeal in relation to the Member’s conduct, competence or recognition by any Court, professional body, statutory or other regulatory authority in any jurisdiction”, in respect of a decision of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) dated 3 April 2019 that disqualified him as a self-managed super fund auditor from 10 April 2019.
- Article 39(a)(ii)(A), in that he breached By-Law 5.2(a)(ii) of the 1 April 2019 By-Laws by failing to provide a sufficient and satisfactory written explanation in response to the Complaint, within 10 Business Days.
Mr Wright attended the Disciplinary Tribunal Hearing and admitted both Complaints.
Penalty and Costs:
- Complaint 1:
- Successful completion of the following CPA Australia courses of further education by 31 October 2021:
- Applying the auditing standards (Course ID: 112753730); and
- Audit of SMSFs (Course ID: 111569026).
A failure to complete the courses by the date specified will result in forfeiture of membership until these courses are successfully completed to the satisfaction of the General Manager Professional Conduct.

The Disciplinary Tribunal imposed the following costs to be paid: $2,492.56.
