On 7 July 2020 the Disciplinary Tribunal found that Ms Kerry Hall breached:
Volume 1:
- Article 39(a)(ii)(C) of the 14 May 2019 Constitution (“the Constitution”) in that she “failed to observe a proper standard of professional care, skill or competence by failing to respond to a request from a client in 2019 for the return of the client's taxation records to enable another accountant complete the client's taxation lodgements.”
- Article 39(a)(ii)(A) of the Constitution in that she breached By-Law 5.2(a)(ii) and 5.2(b) for failing to respond to a Complaint about her and provide further information when requested within 10 business days or at all.

- Article 39(a)(ii)(A) of the Constitution in that she breached:
- By-Law 9.5 which provides “Every Member holding a current Public Practice Certificate must, for so long as the Member holds the Public Practice Certificate:….
- in relation to a Quality Review relating to that Member, comply with all Quality Review steps and requirements and successfully complete a periodic Quality Review within the Quality Review Prescribed Timeframes…”,
in failing to successfully complete a Quality Review within the Quality Review Prescribed Timeframes.”

Penalty and costs
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaints sustained and imposed the following penalties:
Volume 1:
In relation to the Member's failure to observe a proper standard of professional care, skill or competence:
- severe reprimand.
In relation to the Member's failure to respond to Professional Conduct:
- severe reprimand
- a fine of $1000.
Volume 2:
In relation to the Member's failure to successfully complete a periodic Quality Review within the prescribed timeframe:
- forfeiture of Membership, not eligible for readmission until she successfully completes a Quality Review as a non-member at her own cost.
In relation to the Member's failure to respond to Professional Conduct:
- severe reprimand
- fine of $1000.
Prior to any application for readmission, Ms Hall must first pay the fines and costs.
Ms Hall was ordered to pay CPA Australia's costs of $4916.
