On 13 June 2017 the Disciplinary Tribunal found Ms Tianshu (Sue) Yin breached:
- Article 39(a)(ii)B.1) of the Constitution in that she was guilty of dishonourable practice in any profession or undertaking in falsifying the times that she had worked for an accounting practice in a ‘Your experience’ form submitted to CPA Australia to enable her to advance to CPA status
- Article 39(a)(ii)B.2) of the Constitution in that she was guilty of conduct derogatory to or not in the best interests of CPA Australia or its Members in submitting a ‘Your experience’ form to CPA Australia to advance to CPA status in which she falsely declared that the principal who signed that form had sighted and approved the contents, when he had not.
Ms Yin attended the Hearing and denied the Complaints.
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaints sustained and imposed the following penalties:
Penalty and costs
- forfeiture of membership
- Ms Yin is not eligible to apply for readmission for five years
- Ms Yin will only be readmitted to membership at Associate status
Ms Yin was ordered to pay CPA Australia’s costs of $928.68.
