On 23 February 2017 the Disciplinary Tribunal found Mr Tak Man Wong breached Article 39(a)(ii)G of the Constitution in that on 27 September 2016, Mr Wong pleaded guilty before the Hong Kong Magistrates’ Court to:
- one count of breaching section 63 of the Police Force Ordinance 1950 (Cap. 232)
- one count of breaching section 48(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374D).
The offences were minor in nature. The Court fined Mr Wong $1,000 HKD and placed him on a 12 month probation order.
Mr Wong attended the Disciplinary Tribunal Hearing by teleconference and admitted the Complaints.
Penalty and costs
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaints sustained and imposed the penalty of a severe reprimand in respect of each Complaint.
Mr Wong was ordered to pay CPA Australia’s costs of $755.49 AUD.
