On 6 August 2014 the Disciplinary Tribunal determined that as set out in Article 39(a)(ii)B.2) of the Constitution,
Miss Yao (Charlie) Chen was guilty of "conduct which is derogatory to, or not in the best interests of the Company or its members’" when sitting the CPA Program Financial Reporting exam on 23 October 2013.
The Disciplinary Tribunal found that Miss Chen copied by hand the entirety of question 1 and part of question 3 of the case study short answer questions, for future use.
Miss Chen attended the Disciplinary Tribunal Hearing and admitted the Complaint.
Penalty and costs
The Disciplinary Tribunal found the Complaint sustained and imposed the penalty of forfeiture of Membership and that Miss Chen not be eligible for readmission until 31 December 2015.
The Disciplinary Tribunal allowed Miss Chen to enrol in the remaining subjects of the CPA Program for Semester1 2016.
The Disciplinary Tribunal also ordered that a fail be recorded against Miss Chen’s Financial Reporting Exam.
Miss Chen was ordered to pay costs of $615.44.
